The Alliance Foundation

Established in 2005 as a public-private economic development partnership with the City of Aurora, Seize the Future Development Foundation was formed. A few years later, Seize the Future Development Foundation began doing business as Invest Aurora and worked with the city to attract businesses and help them prosper in Aurora and the surrounding region. In 2025, the name changed to the Aurora Regional Economic Alliance Foundation when it became part of the conglomeration that formed the Aurora Regional Economic Alliance (Aurora Alliance).

The Aurora Alliance originally comprised the Aurora Regional Chamber of Commerce, the Quad County African American Chamber of Commerce, Invest Aurora, and Aurora Downtown. The Aurora Alliance now stands as a reinvigorated chamber of commerce serving the greater Aurora region, which includes Kane, Kendall, DuPage, and Will Counties. The economic development work originally envisioned by those who started Seize the Future has transitioned to the city’s Sustainability Development and Business Opportunity Department (formerly MOED). The Aurora Alliance will continue to inform the community of grant and workforce development opportunities and work to support businesses through networking, programming, and advocacy.
